A4Tech built the HU-7P around clear conversation. The unidirectional mic twists to sit right where you speak and is designed to cut background noise, so the other side hears you rather than the room. Volume sits on an inline control on the cable, easy to find without reaching for the earcup, unlike the knob on the HU-35. Leather cushions shut out more outside sound than cloth, and their smooth surface is easy to clean when several staff share one headset at a reception desk. The 2 m cable is tangle-free. Sensitivity is 97 dB, so it is aimed at voice and everyday listening rather than loud music or games.
