A4Tech FBK22AS Bluetooth & Wireless

The A4Tech FBK22AS is a quiet, tenkeyless multi-device keyboard for shared offices, hostels and anyone who types late at night next to a sleeping family.

Its selling point is A4Tech’s QuietKey mechanism: silicone domes with lubricant that A4Tech says cut typing noise from about 35 dB to 14 dB. Among the compact boards here, choose it when noise matters most. The low chocolate-style keys feel close to a laptop keyboard. The TKL layout drops the number pad so the board fits on a small study table. It pairs with three Bluetooth devices and one receiver, and the included USB-C adaptor lets the receiver plug into a MacBook or Type-C tablet. An anti-sleep mode stops a PC from sleeping during a long download.

Limits: no number pad for accounts work, and it runs on one AA cell rather than a rechargeable pack.
